Before Jesus left to go back where he had come from 33 years previously he said to his friends/disciples, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. You have heard me say to you, “I am going away and coming back to you.” If you loved me, you would rejoice because I said, “I am going to the Father,” for My Father is greater than I.
And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.”
Jesus continued to say: “If you love me, you will do as I command, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Then I will ask the Father to send you the Holy Spirit who will help you and always be with you. The Spirit will show you what is true. When the Spirit of truth comes, The Holy Spirit, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears (from God) he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, “The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.”
